In his book Think and Grow Rich, author Napoleon Hill states that one of the things that made Henry Ford such an effective leader, though he did not have a very advanced education, was that he surrounded himself with a “Master Mind” group.
“Through the assistance of his “Master Mind” group, Henry Ford had at his command all the specialized knowledge he needed to enable him to become on of the wealthiest men in America. It was not essential that he have this knowledge in his own mind.” – Napoleon Hill
I think this is welcome news for anybody who is trying to accomplish anything. You don’t need to know it all. You just need to be able to carefully select people that you can surround yourself with that have specialized knowledge about a subject that perhaps you don’t have time to learn or have the knack for.
One area you need a “Master Mind” for may very well be your website and online marketing strategies. Ask yourself who is heading up that aspect of your business. Is that person what you would consider a “Master Mind”? If not, that could explain why your website is not bringing you the results you want.
I like to refer to these people as my “special ops”. Of course, I don’t really call them “secret agent so-and-so” to their face, but it’s kind of fun to think about. One of the “special ops” that I turn to from time to time is Google. They always report for duty immediately and always have plenty of intel. The reality, though, is that I usually need to sift through all that data by myself. A real time-saver would be having someone who could sift through that data for me and tell me what I need to know in a timely fashion so I can get about my business more quickly.
Choose your “Master Mind” group carefully. Their mission, should they choose to accept it, will be to make you look good by giving you the intel you need when you need it.
Steve,
I have almost always been in a mastermind group to foster my personal and business development. The synergy is invaluable and profitable on every front.
I’ve never thought of website experts or coaches or mentors as being like a mastermind group, but I like your analogy and agree with it! We don’t need to have all the knowledge or expertise, but we do need access to it. And then we need to be open to it and use it. Great post.
Steve,
I have to agree with everything Alan said in his comment. A mastermind group is a great way to foster personal and business development.
Thanks for the post!
Respectfully,
Kevin H
