Creative Passion
Creativity has always been a part of my life.
- Writing
- Photography
- Videography
- Music – esp. playing guitar and writing music
I am also very passionate about the magic of web design. I call it magic, because on my end I just enter some letters and numbers (what some folks refer to as “code”) into a computer. Then, somebody on another computer – potentially all the way on the other side of the world, accesses one of my “potions” and >POOF!< all these beautiful shapes and colors just magically appear on their screen. Things just magically appear and disappear and move around and respond to their input. I find that incredibly exciting!
A Little History
I told you a like to write. This is the story of how I got into web design.
I remember having a discussion with someone back in 2000 about the computer scripting language JAVA. He was telling me that, at that time, people that knew JAVA were very marketable, and could expect to be making 6-figure salaries without too much experience. I’m not sure if that was actually the case, but it sounded intriguing.
I did a little research with some local colleges to find out what I needed to do to learn JAVA. Thinking that I couldn’t afford the tuition, I decided to just buy a book on the subject and teach myself. I asked my older geeky brother, geeky because he was a computer programmer, to help me pick out a book. In the bookstore he picked out a book on JAVA, but said, “Here, you might also be interested in this…” He gave me a book on HTML. Okay.
That HTML book was one of the most significant books I’ve ever bought; Sam’s Teach Yourself HTML in 24 Hours.
Coding HTML became an obsession. I was so geeked to program something in HTML and then see what it became on the other side of the browser.
Before long I left the job I had and started Major 7 Productions, which is now the parent company of Pederson Web Design.
A Helping Hand
Knowing that I could be a part of creating that kind of experience between you and your target audience makes it that much more rewarding.
I love to be of help and service any way I can. I know having a great web presence is very important and very hard to attain if you really don’t know what you’re doing.
I hope you’ll consider contacting me so we can discuss how I can help you get the results you want with your website. If you’re not ready to begin your website project, I hope you’ll take time to explore some of the other resources that I have available through my website, such as my blog, my newsletter and especially my FREE REPORT.
Thanks again for stopping by.
